Hi. Having been involved with Carmel since its inception I feel incredibly proud of what our team have created since then. I operate an “open door” policy and am happy to discuss any issues or concerns my residents might have any time of the day. This is merely one of the benefits of being owner/operated – we can be there when you need us and give you a response immediately without having to consult with any “head office”. Outside of work I am a keen hunter/gatherer and enjoy duck shooting, deer stalking and fishing to name a few activities. I am blessed to have two wonderful boys who love nothing more than a day out hunting or fishing with dad (but of course will happily go shopping with mum!). I look forward to welcoming you to our Village
Hi. You will see me popping into the office at odd hours - just to make sure Jason is doing what he's told - and to dot a few i's and cross a few t's. Outside of work I have our two boys, Jack and Jesse, to run around after and if you ask Jason he would probably say I spend quite a bit of time planning our next holiday! I do love to travel and our family trip to Africa in 2012 would be an absolute highlight. I welcome you to Carmel for a visit and am sure you will love the place as much as we all do.
I assume management responsibilities in Jason’s absence, and when I have everything under control at Carmel it is possible I will be on a course – a golf course. I spend quite a bit of time with my two great nephews who know me affectionately as “Gummy” (well that’s the best a wee lad could do when asked to say “Great Uncle Michael”!)
I am privileged to be part of the team at Carmel. Having lived, worked and travelled overseas, I so enjoy the tranquil, peaceful and approachable environment provided for our wonderful residents here in the beautiful Bay of Plenty. I come from a strong PA, administration and sales background, am on the front desk and enjoy supporting residents to help make their lifestyle at Carmel, the best ever. I also have a fast paced family to organise and volunteer in several community people based arenas. During those times, you will find me with a "real coffee" in hand. You will be well looked after here.
Gardener, First response, Caregiver, driver, and Ms Fix-it Girl. I have worked at Carmel for ten and a half years and have fully enjoyed every minute. I do gardening, driving the village bus, helping with maintenance and other odd jobs. I have been trained in first aid and you name it, I can do it! I like to spend my spare time with my two children and I have a great passion for hot rods and drag racing which takes up a lot of my time. Working at Carmel is great – it’s really a special place and I love working here for Jason and Sharlene - they treat you as one of the family.
I take care of the grounds and general village maintenance here at Carmel. I am the village “handy man” and the residents appreciate me doing a host of odd jobs for them. I am proudly a King Country Boy, born and bred in Taurmarunui, and lived there until moving to Tauranga 16 years ago. I am married to Denise and we spend a lot time with her elderly parents and our great newphews and nieces (I am “Langy” to them). I go fishing when I can (a man must provide for the family) and enjoy the outdoors.
NZRN Adv Dip Nursing
I did my nursing training at the Barrett Street Hospital in New Plymouth and then worked in several hospitals both in New Zealand and abroad. For the last seven years I have been on site here at Carmel as Registered Nurse. I thoroughly enjoy my job at Carmel and the involvement I am able to have with residents and the staff. I have always had a great interest in music and singing, contributing to the Carmel Singers with my gift of a soprano voice. I have also enjoyed travelling over the years and hope to do more in the future. I am also very lucky to have two sons and two small grandchildren.
